Hound & Food Market
3rd August 2019
Our very first own fundraising event was held on Saturday, the 3rd of August 2019 from 9am till 3pm at Ollivanders Estate.
We held this event not only raise the much needed funds for our rescue sanctuary, but also to support other rescue organisations around KZN. We invited many rescue organisation's to attend our market, put up a stall free of charge, and bring along a few of their dogs up for adoption. We were hoping that by doing so the chances of their adoptable dogs, being adopted, will increase. Our aim of this fundraiser was to promote animal welfare, and to encourage society to rather adopt than shop.
Bowles Road Residents Spring Tea
September 2019
We decided to host a Bowles Road Residents Spring Tea to invite all of our neighbors in the area to inform and educate them on what exactly we do.
This event was brought up to stop false rumors about our rescue sanctuary that have been circulating in the Hillcrest/Shongweni/Assagay areas.
We've heard the following rumors:
That we are involved in dogfighting & sell dogs to dog fighters
We are breeders
We sell dogs
When in actual fact:
We resent dog fighters, and promote anti-dog fighting campaigns. We have a rescue (Sasha) that our vet & us suspect was involved in dog fighting, we cannot bare to see our dogs in pain. We have reported dog fighting cases before to the relevant authorities, as we hope for the horrific torture of animals to end for good and the monsters behind the atrocious acts to be locked up for life.
We resent dog breeders, as there are already so many dogs in this world that have no home, yet more are being brought into this world by "raping" the mother dog. By separating the mother dog from her puppies are cruel which is why we have a few mums with their pups at our rescue sanctuary. (they were brought to us with their puppies, we sterilize every dog of ours)
We do not support or promote pet shops or the selling/buying of pets as we believe that animals are not commodities to be sold or bought they are living beings whom should have equal rights.
We are a pro-life, no kill animal rescue sanctuary that is dedicated to animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty to animals.
Green Diwali @ Mitchell Park
October 2019
Green Diwali is a beautiful concept which serves to protect all of gods creatures on this prosperous occasion celebrated globally by Indians. Instead of lighting up the sky with loud bangs, scaring animals away & giving them panic attacks, Green Diwali allows people to celebrate this joyous festival by accommodating all living creatures, by lighting up the park in memory of a family member, loved one or beloved pet.
If you wish to support this noble cause you are welcome to sponsor a light for R100 in memory of a family member, loved one, or beloved pet.
To donate simply EFT the payment to:
